Anyway, the 4 reliable boys from Downing, MO via San Luis Potosi', Mexico have completed pouring the floor for the garage this morning. They are waiting for it to dry enough that they can power trowel the surface. They really do pay attention to detail and work well as a team. No sealer will be applied so I can paint the garage floor later this summer.
Later today, I've offered to take them for the boat ride. They'll be back later in the project, however, if we choose not to do it today.
The first of three loads of concrete.
This concrete truck is a 1965 model!
Load 2 is complete. There's about 6 yards in each load.
Here's the '69 model concrete truck with original paint.
The concrete company's trucks are old. They like to keep these older trucks because they can get into tight locations better than the newer, larger concrete trucks. The blue truck in the pics is a 1969 Chevy C60. It's 40,000 miles into it's 4th engine. They'll put 180,000 miles on an engine and then rebuild it. According to my calculations, that means there is close to 600,000 hard miles on this truck. And, the other blue Chevy C80 that they have is a '65! The owner has been delivering concrete himself since 1970.
Okay, so where are the stamping boys?
Word is, they are coming tomorrow morning now.
Yup, we took a boat ride around 1 pm.
It gave these young men a chance to admire their work from the water.
At dusk, the patio got power washed and sealed. Here it is.........
Dang! That's a lot of miles and a bunch of concrete over that many years!
