June 19 - No Traffic Jam!

A lot getting done today but not the traffic jam that I expected. The truck with the septic tank got here a little after 1 pm and was gone by the time that the concrete truck showed up after 2. Its another 95+ degree day with a south wind. But not as bad as yesterday.

The stairwell to the lower level rough-in was completed.

The septic tank was shoehorned into the ground.
Paul uses a Deere mini excavator.

Backing this big truck around the lake side of the house is not for the faint of heart.

1500 gallon mechanical system.

Lowered into place.

Inspector Travis works for Shawn Cremer Concrete who is doing the stamped concrete porch. He is 17, extremely curious and "wants to work" when he gets out of high school.

The mechanical system sets on top of the 1500 concrete gallon tank.

The deck is going up on the back side of the house.

This will be the lower screened porch area.

And the front porch was poured.

Shawn, Dillon and Travis are waiting now so the concrete can set up enough for the release color to be applied before stamping the surface.

Release color is dusted over the top and then the surface is stamped. They'll be back in the morning to power wash and seal the surface. After removing the forms, they'll do a stamped overlay on the outside perimeter. The front porch needed to be poured and the deck framing had to be completed before they could start work on the roof system. The good news for today......I didn't find any mistakes.

  2. We had a good laugh when the tank was being installed. Seventeen year old Travis wanted to know who in the group was the "Poo-ologist". And it went downhill from there in a hurry.
