Sept. 11 - Gettin' Rocked!!

Drywall. Sheetrock. Whatever you call it...we're getting rocked!

Finally, this guy's brother showed up about 5 pm to help him with the garage drywall. They are both residents of the Des Moines area. The garage has 11 foot ceilings so it is much tougher for one guy to manage all by himself. It's impressive what one man has accomplished in 2 days.  This evening, they'll be done hanging all the drywall. But, there's a lot of messy work to come in the days ahead.......all the taping and mudding. There's a different crew (or person) that does that.

The lower level was rocked today. Here's various pics of the rec room.

The stairwell.......

Another shot of the kitchen area.....

Brenda and I met with Ron Jackson and his right hand man Reuben late yesterday to decide on the shape of the concrete parking pad to be poured in front of the garage. They'll also make the front walk and a front step. Two more loads of gravel and a whole lot of cement...the cost really adds up in a hurry with a wide 3 car garage.

It's been a lazy day for me. We've had consistent winds around 30 mph much of today pumping in all this heat. Once again, I'm hoping this is the LAST 90 degree day of this summer season.
